Renown Health introduces first and only FastTrack ERs

Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

It’s after 10 p.m., and you need to see a doctor. Good news is emergent care is available and probably faster than you think. The Emergency Rooms (ERs) at Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown South Meadows Medical Center introduce the region’s first and only FastTrack ER.

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the new ER system is designed to treat patients who need immediate attention for small emergencies including minor cuts and burns, allergic reactions, sprains and strains, deep cuts requiring stitches, ear infections, rashes and skin infections and insect stings and bites.

How FastTrack ER Works

Upon arriving at the Emergency Room at either Renown Regional Medical Center or Renown South Meadows Medical Center, an ER nurse will determine the urgency and complexity of the care you need. If your condition is less severe and requires no more than one hospital resource (such as an X-ray, lab test, etc.) the ER nurse may assign you to FastTrack ER where you will receive care sooner. If your condition requires multiple tests and treatments, such as respiratory treatment, blood transfusion, extensive X-Ray & Imaging or lab work, you will be seen according to the severity of your condition. Please visit renown.org/er for more information.

Urgent Care Locations Available Too

Renown has several Urgent Care locations for medical problems that are urgent but not life-threatening. Some of our locations offer even greater convenience with Lab Services, X-Ray & Imaging, primary care and urgent care all at the same location. Our physicians treat simple cuts, fractures, burns and sprains, as well as fevers, allergic reactions, animal bites, rashes and sore throats. Walk-ins are welcome. Most centers are open evenings, weekends and holidays. No appointments are necessary, and most insurance plans are accepted. For times and locations, visit renown.org/UrgentCare
