SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is proud to announce the return of Cashman Equipment as the presenting “Anchor” sponsor for the 11th annual Day For Kids, Sept. 22, 2012. The free, marina-themed event draws hundreds of families to the Sparks Marina Park each year for a day of fun including games, bounce houses, face painting, lunch, free Club memberships and dozens of vendors offering information about community services. The event is designed to underscore the importance of parents and children spending quality time together.
In 2011, Day For Kids drew more than 2,000 attendees. The Club hopes to grow that number with the help of additional sponsors at the “Dock” and “Sail” levels, as well as vendors. Just one “Dock” sponsorship remains, while $500 “Sail” sponsorships are unlimited. Renown Children’s Hospital has signed on as the event’s “Captain” while ABC Fire and Computer-Land are the two existing “Docks.” Vendor space is $50 (free for non-profit organizations) and subject to Club approval. Companies that serve families – in every industry from medical to housing assistance – are invited to participate. Space is limited and vendors are encouraged to secure spots early. Sponsors and vendors have access to marketing opportunities during the event promotion and production.
Activities such as sharing a meal with a child are proven to promote family bonding, good eating habits and enhance personal values. Day for Kids provides members of the community with an opportunity to revive the commitment to children, demonstrating first-hand the benefits of spending a day together.
