Renown Skilled Nursing earned a 4 out of 5-star rating on the 2012 Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Nursing Home Compare ranking. The rating reflects the evaluation of three items: licensure survey, nursing staff and quality measures.
“The level of care at Renown Skilled Nursing has always been high quality; however, there are always opportunities for improvement,” Lisa Abbott, BSN, RN, Director of Nursing at Renown Skilled said. “This year, we focused on staff education, practices and procedures. Throughout the process, we paid close attention to patient benefits.”
Recommendations from the inspection were minor, such as moving signage. Abbott believes this recognition was earned because the employees at Renown Skilled have a strong bond.
“We really looked at this as a chance to improve our services and to ensure that our patients received the best care possible,” said Annie Monnig, Manager of Social Services at Renown Skilled. “What sets our facility apart from other skilled facilities is that we have a family oriented culture. That culture and our employees’ teamwork really enhance each patient’s experience.”
