Each summer, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows hosts hundreds of kids for summer camp at seven northern Nevada locations. And this year, many of those campers get an extra treat thanks to specialty camps that cater to children’s specific interests, including dance, outdoor recreation and the arts. Summer camp costs just $40 per week with additional fees starting at $5 for optional field trips. Sign-ups are available for one week or all 11 weeks of camp.
Specialty camp sessions are held at the Club’s Donald W. Reynolds Facility at 2680 E. 9th Street in Reno, as well as several of the Club’s other summer sites. Specialty camps include: Hip Hop Dance, Fishing, Club Kids’ College (on the Nevada campus), Robotics, How the West Was, Drama, Discover Artown, Drum Choir and Get Fit For Life. Summer camp enrollment includes all meals, all-day adult supervision and all-day fun for 11 unforgettable weeks from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. June 11 – Aug. 24. (6 a.m. – 6 p.m., June 11 – Aug. 10 in Fernley).
Summer camp sites include: The Donald W. Reynolds Facility (9th Street), Neil Road Youth Site, Joe Mitchell Community Center in Lemmon Valley, Rollan Melton Elementary School, Verdi Elementary School, and, catering to the under-6-year-olds, the E.L. Wiegand Early Learning Center on Foster Drive across from Reno High School. Camp is also offered at Fernley Intermediate School.
