HARRY REID NEWS RELEASE
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Sen. Harry Reid today announced a $3,530,625 grant for the Reno-Tahoe International Airport to replace the pavement in an aircraft parking area that includes four airline gates on two separate concourses.
The airport generates $2 billion for the local economy, and with a refurbished ramp, Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be capable of welcoming future visitors for many more years. The grant comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the project will be completed in 2013.
“Northern Nevada is home to some of our nation’s great sites and attractions,” said Reid. “More travelers coming through Northern Nevada will boost the economy, and Reno-Tahoe International Airport must be able to properly welcome future visitors. This funding will enable the airport to make the necessary updates to its facility so it can be prepared for a successful future.”
