Letter carriers to host charity golf tournament

The National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 2778 out of Sparks Nevada will be hosting a charity golf tournament at Wildcreek Golf Course on August 12, 2012. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Northern Nevada Greater Sacramento Muscular Dystrophy Association. Registration covers green fees, cart and range balls with a lunch and awards ceremony to follow.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a non-profit voluntary health agency dedicated to eradicating more than 40 neuromuscular diseases. Another goal is to improve the quality of life of local individuals and families affected by these diseases through no cost services such as summer camps, a clinic at UC Davis Medical Center, support groups, help with repair of wheelchairs, leg braces and communication devices. They also provide a medical equipment loan closest and resource referral.

The golf tournament will be a 4 person scramble with an 8AM modified shotgun start. There will be team awards, a long drive and closest to the pin contest as well as a hole in one contest with a $10,000 prize. Lunch will be provided during the post event awards ceremony. Raffle prizes will also be available.
