Awards to Phyllis Freyer, Steven Aramini, Laura Newman, and the TXT L8R Campaign
The American Advertising Federation of Reno will award selected honorees at the 2011 Ad Person of the Year Awards. The event takes place Tuesday, June 26 at the Atlantis. This year’s honorees include Phyllis Freyer of Renown Health receiving the Thomas C. Wilson Award, Steven Aramini of Bauserman Group receiving the Ad Person of the Year Award, Laura Newman of KOLO-TV receiving the Community Contribution of the Year Award for the Heroin Awareness Campaign, and the TXT L8R Campaign by FOX-TV and MY 21 receiving the Promotional Group of the Year Award. Networking for the event begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the awards presentation at noon. The cost for members of AAF, AIGA and PRSA is $25, $35 for non-members. Lunch will be served. Wilson Award was established to honor a member of the advertising community who has made a significant contribution to advertising and has been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Steven Aramini, recipient of the Ad Person of the Year Award: The Ad Person of the Year is an individual who has have achieved singular excellence in the advertising field during the last year, while demonstrating strong community involvement.Laura Newman, recipient of the Community Contribution of the Year Award for her work on the Heroin Awareness Campaign: The Community Contribution of the Year Award recognizes a business or individual that has been active in furthering the industry’s responsibility in areas of social concern. FOX-TV and MY 21 for TXT L8R, recipient of the Promotion Person or Group Award: The recipient of the Promotion Person or Group Award must have made an outstanding contribution to the effectiveness of promotional activities on behalf of the community.
