SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE
This summer, lend a helping hand to one of the region’s largest special events, the PGA TOUR’s Reno-Tahoe Open at Montrêux, July 30 – Aug. 5, 2012. As a non-profit, 501 (c)3 organization, the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation relies on hundreds of volunteers, known as “Forecaddies,” to help produce its annual event, providing fans a chance to get up close and personal with the PGA TOUR. Opportunities include player and caddie transportation, score keeping and assisting the Golf Channel crew, all key roles in supporting the tournament, which in turn has given back more than $2 million to the community. Registration is now available by visiting www.RenoTahoeOpen.com or calling the tournament office at 775-322-3900.
Critical in helping produce a successful tournament, nearly 1,000 volunteers are needed for this year’s Reno-Tahoe Open, which is dedicated to giving back to other local non-profits and organizations and positively promoting the Reno-Tahoe area to an international audience. Grab some friends or make it a family affair in support of the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation and receive tournament access, food and beverages during each shift worked, a tournament hat and polo shirt. When not working, Forecaddies enjoy the tournament free of charge.
Forecaddie positions are now available ranging from laser operators, score keepers, marshals and special area ambassadors, and applications are available at www.RenoTahoeOpen.com. The $55 cost includes the required uniform, a meal during each shift, two season passes to the tournament and invitations to the Forecaddie Appreciation Parties. The Forecaddie package is valued at more than $200.
