The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) welcomes chief financial officer Jack Buchold, to its full-time staff of 20. With 30 years of experience as a financial executive for privately held and publicly traded organizations, Buchold will manage the overall financial health of The Discovery including operational, fundraising and strategic growth efforts and will oversee information technology.

“The Discovery is a new, vital and growing organization,” said Buchold. “My financial experience with three start-up organizations has helped me create the financial constructs that will help The Discovery continue to enhance the value of the community by reaching our youth.”

“Jack brings a wealth of financial experience to The Discovery,” said Klaus Grimm, executive director of The Discovery. “Jack’s expertise in the for-profit financial realm will provide a fresh outlook for the museum’s ongoing development efforts.”

Buchold has a passion for aviation that stems from his time as an Air Force crew member. He is a member of an AT-6 aviation club that has hangar space at Reno-Stead Airport during the National Championship Air Races, which is also made available to the Reno Air Race Association. Buchold hopes to apply his love of aviation to help broaden aviation-related galleries and exhibits at The Discovery.
