Join the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum for Mother’s Day

Celebrate Mother’s Day at The Summit with a day of shopping, music from Reno  Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and a family-friendly activity from the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. The Mother’s Day celebration will kick off at The Summit from noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 next to Justice between Old Navy and Dillard’s.

From noon to 1 p.m. chamber ensembles of two to five musicians from the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will be placed throughout The Summit for musical entertainment. While listening to the Classical music, join the Discovery Museum between noon and 2 p.m. to create beautiful and long lasting flowers using nothing more than duct tape and a drinking straw.  Families will be able to design a carnation or a rose without all the dirt and thorns.

Participants in the Discovery Museum duct tape flowers activity can enter to win a birthday party at the Discovery Museum to include an age appropriate, hands-on educational activity and time to explore the museum – valued at $245. Other prizes include two tickets to the Reno Philharmonic Cowboy Up concert in July and various other prizes from The Summit.

In addition to the exciting Mother’s Day activities, The Summit will also be giving back to shoppers through their Shoptimum Rewards™ promotion. From April 30 through May 6 when shoppers spend $250 across any five different stores and restaurants at The Summit, they will receive a free $25 gift card to The Summit. The center currently has more than 70 unique stores and restaurants for guests to enjoy. Shoppers must redeem their receipts by May 9 at the Guest Services office located between Old Navy and J. Crew.

On Sunday, May 13, shoppers 21 and over can stroll around The Summit during the Mother’s Day Wine Walk hosted by L’uva Bella Wine Gallery from 2 to 5 p.m. Shoppers can sip and shop at various store and restaurant locations while also enjoying glass etching and food sampling inside L’uva Bella as May’s monthly special. Visit L’uva Bella to purchase tickets for $20 per person. This month proceeds from the Wine Walk will benefit the Dennis Medina Family.

New to the Wine Walk this year is the Frequent Tasters Club. Wine walkers who participate in the wine walk for six months will receive a FREE ticket to the seventh month. More information be found at (775) 851-1110.
