Reid announces $950,000 grant for Reno-Sparks Indian Colony

harryreid1-150x150-6916781-7310102WASHINGTON, D.C.- Sen. Harry Reid today announced a grant of $950,000 for infrastructure improvements and for the development of a commercial site at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony in Washoe County.

The grant comes from the Economic Development Administration at the United States Department of Commerce. The funding will help create 128 jobs and will support sustainable development by promoting green entrepreneurship and technologies.

“I am pleased that this grant will help improve the tribe’s infrastructure and spur economic growth in Reno and Sparks,” said Reid. “I have always been committed to making sure that Nevada’s tribes get the tools they need to continually explore new opportunities for sustainable economic development while creating jobs in the process.”
