Muckel Anderson CPAs, a full-service tax, audit and financial services firm, has promoted Rachael Austin, CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner to senior manager and Alexis Thayer, CPA to senior associate.
Austin joined the firm in 2003 and was previously a manager. In her new role Austin will direct Muckel Anderson’s audit department including researching new accounting and auditing standards, managing staff training, coordinating peer review and internal inspections, and regulating firm policies encompassing all audit and accounting services.
Austin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. She serves as treasurer on the Artown board of trustees and is on the board of the Northern Nevada Community Housing Resource Board, a nonprofit low income housing board.
Thayer has been employed by Muckel Anderson CPAs for three years and was previously an associate. In her new role as senior associate, she will oversee audits of non-profit and government organizations, and will continue to prepare individual, corporate, partnership and exempt tax returns.
Thayer graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy.
Muckel Anderson CPAs recently relocated its office to The Jones Vargas Center at 300 East Second Street, across from the Reno Aces Ballpark.
