SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Insurance professionals promise to help Nevada businesses

MacLean Financial Group’s Jan. 1, 2012 merger of MFG Benefits, LLC with JD Benefit Services is creating new jobs in Reno.  And the significance of new insurance hires goes beyond simple job creation.

Nevada businesses, especially small businesses, will now be able to get help providing affordable benefits to their employees from MFG Benefits insurance professionals.

The merger of a major medical and life insurance provider with a leading voluntary benefits company positions MFG Benefits to allow companies and even individuals to obtain health insurance for themselves or their employees at competitive rates.

Steve Dalinis, formerly vice president of JD Benefits, has been named president of MFG Benefits.  In his two decades of insurance service, he has played a key role in growing the voluntary benefits provider JD Benefits.  Dalinis has moved the company to Reno from Las Vegas and has overseen the merger of JD Benefits with MFG.  He presents continuing education seminars regarding IRS Section 125 programs to help industry professionals stay current on “cafeteria plans” and allow their customers to take full advantage of tax benefits.

Cory Semel is MFG Benefits’ new director of client services.  Born to a family of Wall Street insiders, Semel forged his career in the commodities trading, securities and insurance industries, gaining vast customer service experience.  He moved to Nevada 11 years ago and has built a following in both Reno and Las Vegas.  As director of client services, he played a key role in merging JD Benefits with MFG Benefits, LLC and now heads MFG Benefits’ client services team.  He holds Nevada life and health insurance licenses as well as several securities licenses.

Melissa Cothard has an extensive background in sales and customer service.  She’s a Chicago native, but she’s called Reno home for most of her life.  After spending the last 20 years in customer service, she’s pursuing a master’s degree in business management.  She holds Nevada life and health insurance licenses.

Elizabeth Cuff has a diverse customer service background.  She has been in sales and territory management for the last 25 years in the food industry.  She has owned and operated several small businesses over the years.  Her desire to continue to live in the Reno area allowed her to take advantage of new opportunities and start a new career in insurance.  Cuff has Nevada life and health insurance licenses.
