Live Entertainment at the Carson Valley Inn Features Dueling Pianos Act

The Carson Valley Inn features ongoing nightly free live entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge with no cover charge and no drink minimum.  Entertainment hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 6:00 to 10 p.m., Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 1 a.m.

George Pickard, February 20 – 22:  George is an accomplished performer, believable impressionist, captivating entertainer and successful song writer. He co-wrote “What Did You Do with Your Old Forty Fives” for Bobby Vinton and he backed up many acts from the fifties and sixties including The Shirelles, The Diamonds and The Platters. He was also one of the Kingsmen (Louie, Louie) for awhile. George has played the Fillmore in San Francisco with acts such as Santana, Big Brother and the Holding Company and Jefferson Airplane.

Escalade, February 23 – 25: Band leader Jeff Odom and his hand-picked band play classic and current Rhythm & Blues.  They perform a great tribute to the artist’s of Motown such as The Drifters, Coasters, Temptations and Four Tops plus the hits of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.  You won’t be able to stay in your chair… and dancing at your slot machine is OK! Escalade will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight on Thursday and from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday after a special 8 p.m. show those two nights by Dueling Pianos Anywhere.

Dueling Pianos Anywhere, February 24 & 25: This is the #1 rated Dueling Pianos Show in the country and they are appearing in the CVI Cabaret Lounge with no cover and no minimum! Dueling Pianos Anywhere features Kirk Garrett and Troy Baldwin in the only real “All-Request” Dueling Pianos show playing directly from guest requests and not a canned preplanned show. These two extremely talented piano entertainers have performed thousands of all-request shows at casinos, corporate events, colleges, universities, hotels and conventions and private events. Don’t miss this exceptional treat right here in the Carson Valley – one extended and power-packed show each night at 8 p.m.!

Dale Poune, February 26 – 29: Dale Poune plays guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass. An accomplished vocalist with a variety of musical styles, he has performed with the Fortunes, Buddy Miles, The Coasters and The Drifters – and is currently working with David John and the Comstock Cowboys.

DECADES, March 1 – 3:  DECADES presents a vibrant and diverse act. From Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” to Lady Gaga’s “Pokerface”, DECADES’ double-barreled female vocalists and energized rhythm section truly shine when playing hits from the 1940’s to today.  The group includes Samantha Francis (vocals, tambourine), Andrea Desmond (keyboards, vocals), Billy DiBono (drums), Will Watje (guitar, vocals), and Tobias Brooks (bass, guitar, trumpet).

Paul Covarelli, March 4 – 7:  Veteran musician Paul Covarelli is a talented guitarist and vocalist. He started the group Jo Mama over 20 years ago and also plays with other groups in the area covering jazz, swing, blues, Latin and more styles.

Stew Stewart, March 8: A Stew Stewart show has something for everyone including country music, blues, oldies, comedy, classic rock, Motown and just plain ol’ fun – with a few surprises, too!  A Nevada entertainer for over four decades, Stew has appeared at over 100 state and county fairs, many as the opening act for artists such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Marie Osmond, Herman’s Hermits, The Drifters, The Coasters, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, The Oak Ridge Boys and more!  Stew’s band is a show in itself and they will be joined by Stew for his performances at 8 p.m. Thursday and at 8 and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Hands of Time (H.O.T.), March 9 – 10: This mother-daughter team of Donna Wheeler and Jill Leal-Turria creates a natural harmonic blend as they perform rock, blues, country, classic oldies, standards, ballads and swing. H.O.T. performed with the popular Bay Area band Pure Honey as “The Honey Girls,” singing backups and lead duet vocals.

The Carson Valley Inn (www.carsonvalleyinn.com) is located on US Highway 395 in Minden, NV near the start of State Highway 88, twenty minutes from Lake Tahoe’s south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno.  The property includes a recently-remodeled casino and 153-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV Park, free nightly entertainment in the Cabaret Lounge and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel.  Three dining facilities include Katie’s (recently remodeled), Job’s Perk and CV Steak, a Nevada-style steakhouse featuring steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta and more.
