United enrollees may continue to access hospital services, primary care, urgent care and Walmart-based clinics without paying out-of-network charges
UnitedHealthcare has announced its continued partnership with Saint Mary’s, with a renewed contract effective Dec. 28, 2011. The contract includes all United Healthcare products: Commercial HMO, Choice Plus PPO, Secure Horizons and Options PPO. The renewed contract ensures that UnitedHealthcare members can continue to access healthcare services through Saint Mary’s and its affiliates, with no gap in network coverage. This includes hospital care (i.e., emergency services, inpatient/outpatient care), care provided in outpatient settings (i.e., lab and imaging), as well as primary care, urgent care and Walmart retail clinics provided via Saint Mary’s Medical Group.

SMMG is also home to a new team of cardiologists and a vascular specialist, with plans to expand both primary- and specialty-care services in the coming year.
