Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum welcomes new information technology specialist

The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery) welcomes information technology (IT) specialist, Mary Heid, to its full-time staff of 19. With more than two decades of IT experience, Heid will manage all tasks associated with exhibit and office technology. In her new role, Heid will plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and software systems at The Discovery.

“Bringing aboard such extraordinary talent ensures that The Discovery continues to deliver one of the best educational experiences in our region,” said Gretchen Bietz, director of development at The Discovery. “We are thrilled with the opportunity to expand our staff and look forward to continued success and development throughout the year.”

Heid received her Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York and has worked for education-related organizations for more than 20 years. Prior to her roll at The Discovery, Heid worked in Rochester at a school for children with disabilities and in the systems design and integration department at Nazareth College.
