Catholic Healthcare West restructures governance and changes name

Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), the parent organization of Saint Mary’s Reno, announced today that it has restructured its governance and changed its name to Dignity Health.

In the rapidly changing health care environment, this new name and structure position the entire organization for growth and success. Saint Mary’s mission, vision, and values remain the same, as does its commitment to providing excellent health care to the northern Nevada community.

Dignity Health’s changes have no impact on the operations, policies or mission of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. This restructuring is not a change in ownership for Saint Mary’s, nor is it a sale. Saint Mary’s remains a Catholic hospital, sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, following the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services, and committed to the overall health of the community it serves.

Dignity Health, with support from the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael, is continuing to explore options that will help preserve the availability of high-quality care, as well as consumer and physician choice in hospitals, in northern Nevada.
