SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The Reno City Council approved an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement regarding the SouthEast Connector Impact on Rosewood Lake Golf Course.

The approval includes a $7.5 million settlement plus additional design and construction costs to compensate the City of Reno for impacts the SouthEast Connector will have on the golf course. The Connector will bisect the City of Reno’s Rosewood Lake Golf, taking approximately 31 plus acres in easements and may require the construction of new holes for the golf course. These new holes may be constructed on land owned by the City of Reno on Pembroke Drive.

The settlement will allow the City to reconfigure holes at the golf course to accommodate the new roadway, and allow the City to continue to provide a high quality public golf at the site.

The SouthEast Connector Project has been approved by the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), the City of Sparks, Washoe County, and the City of Reno as part of the RTC’s sales tax street and highway program of projects and the program projects for the Regional Road Impact Fee. It is an arterial roadway that will be constructed between the intersection of Veteran’s Parkway and South Meadows Parkway to the intersection of Greg Street and Sparks Boulevard.
