SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

KNPB’s President and CEO, Kurt Mische, dropped off donations of books, posters and small toys for patients of Renown’s Children’s Infusion Center Tuesday, Dec. 13. KNPB regularly donates books and other similar items to the hospital’s youngest patients.

Children learn early literacy and science discovery skills from series such as “Curious George” and “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That.” The KNPB donation to the Renown Children’s Hospital will provide an educational outlet and distraction for young northern Nevada patients receiving treatment at Renown Regional.

KNPB reaches 69,000 households and about 180,000 people per week in central and northern Nevada and northeastern California with public television programming and related education/outreach services. Three KNPB digital channels deliver 24/7 programming services including PBS national programming, Create lifestyle, High Definition, and V-me, public television programs in Spanish. Through the support of local corporations and foundations as well as individual members, KNPB has been delivering public television services to the communities it serves for the past 28 years.
