Public invited to ribbon cutting on Veterans Day

The Veterans Guest House, which provides temporary housing to veterans and their families while undergoing medical treatment in the Reno/Sparks area, will celebrate the opening of a new house with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day, at 2 p.m.

The new guest house addition is located on the property immediately to the east of the House at 880 Locust Street.  That facility was purchased with the help of a City of Reno HUD Community Block Grant. The addition will house up to 7 people, and was recently remodeled, thanks to the generous support of the community.

The Guest House invites the public to join them on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 for activities beginning at 10 a.m. with an Agent Orange balloon release, followed by the City of Reno Veterans Day Parade and then the official Ribbon Cutting of the house at 2 p.m.
