Veillette named Renown VP of Specialty Hospitals

Renown Health has named David Veillette as the new Executive Vice President of Specialty Hospitals. His initial focus areas will include Renown Institute for Cancer and Renown Children’s Hospital.

Veillette comes to Renown with not only a wealth of healthcare experience but also a recent honor in the field. He receivedArizona’s top Health Care Leadership Award in the administrator division. In his leadership role as President and CEO of Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Veillette led the creation of the first all-digital heart and cancer hospitals in the country, with locations in Indiana and Arizona.

Known for his hands-on, value-driven management style, he plans to maintain a patient-friendly approach that will include habitual visits to patients, their families and employees.

“You can’t lead an organization from a desk,” he added, saying that by talking to patients and staff at
least an hour a day, he gathers valuable input on how to improve. “I’m always about providing exceptional customer service,” he continued. “The patient is the center of all we do.”

David’s career started in 1969 as a scrub technician in a heart laboratory. Enrolled in the military, he earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and master’s degree in business administration at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He also is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
