CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval today made the following statement regarding the ongoing investigation into yesterday’s crash at the Reno Championship Air Races:
“I want to express my thanks to the National Transportation Safety Board for its immediate and thoughtful response to the horrible accident yesterday in Reno. I am receiving updates on the NTSB investigation through the Nevada Department of Public Safety and wish to again thank the emergency response and medical personnel from throughout our state who are selflessly assisting in this process.
“I know that Nevadans are seeking ways to make a difference in the wake of this tragedy, and so I encourage them to donate blood later this month, or perhaps take this opportunity to serve others by volunteering. Kathleen and I join countless other Nevada families in offering our thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families who are struggling at this time.
“In these difficult times, we should remember that grief counselors and family assistance programs are available in our community.”
