SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championships will take place September 19 at Montreux Golf & Country Club. A portion of all event proceeds will go directly to The Children’s Cabinet.

All participant registrations include 18 holes of golf with cart and range, as well as a tee gift courtesy of Nike golf, post-play dinner and libations and a silent auction.

In addition, The Children’s Cabinet will receive $100 per registration. For over 25 years, this non-profit organization has been addressing the needs of 15,000 children and families in our community each year. The Children’s Cabinet provides services including child care referrals and assistance, foster youth support and family violence prevention.

“We are very excited to be hosting this event again this year,” says Ronda Hartley of Mercedes-Benz of Reno. “It’s a great way to bring the community together, and The Children’s Cabinet provides many great benefits to northern Nevada. It has been our pleasure to work with them.”

The event will begin with a 12:00 noon shotgun start. Teams of four will compete in a Four Man Scramble, and members of the winning teams will go head-to-head in a sudden death scratch medal playoff, with the two individual winners advancing to the Sectional Qualifier November 9-13 in Scottsdale, Arizona. All post-play events will take place immediately following the tournament. Interested participants are encouraged to register no later than September 12.

Montreux Golf & Country Club is a private golf course community located at 16475 Bordeaux Dr. at the foot of Mt. Rose, and is home to the PGA Reno Tahoe Open.
