Dolan Automotive Group helps fund northern Nevada schools at a time when it’s needed most by announcing Dolan’s $50,000 Class Project 2011 which funds classroom projects throughout northern Nevada. The project encourages public and charter school teachers in northern Nevada to submit a classroom project on behalf of students during the months of September and October. Teacher proposals are voted on by fans of the Dolan Automotive Group Facebook page and the top 20 vote-earners receive $2,500 to fund the proposed classroom project. Teachers can go to http://www.dolanautogroup.com and click on the “Dolan’s $50,000 Class Project 2011” banner to enter a proposal.
“We’re fortunate to be in a position to give back to the schools during a time when they could really use the help,” Ryan Dolan, CEO of Dolan Automotive Group said. “We want these contributions to go directly into the classroom and support projects that will benefit students. We hope by having the community vote on the project we can get teachers, students, families and friends involved in choosing which projects will be funded.”
Entrants are encouraged to develop creative entries as Facebook fans choose the top 20 projects to win the $2,500 prize. Project topics are at the discretion of the teacher, whether it be an art or science project, or something different altogether, unique and creative proposals are encouraged. Teachers must be K-12 public school employees in Washoe, Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Humboldt, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing or Storey County to enter.
A transition somewhere in here would be helpful to the reader. Dolan Automotive Group launched its Facebook page in August with the Dolan FanFest Free Car Giveaway. The giveaway received more than 9,000 entries and the Facebook page received nearly 4,000 new “likes” during the month.
“Last month’s car giveaway was just a start for us,” added Dolan. “We’re hoping to use the Facebook page to really engage the northern Nevada community. Sure, we’ll be doing giveaways from time to time, but it really gives us an opportunity to get our fans involved with our charitable efforts and contributions to the community.”
