Two arrested for alleged possession of graffiti materials

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested two 18 year old males for possession of large amounts of graffiti paraphernalia in the evening of Saturday, August 13th near Bishop Manogue High School.

While conducting an area check of the school and nearby buildings, a Deputy observed two male subjects wandering near the automobile dealership after business hours. The two males were identified as David Zarubi and Kenneth Tavener. Zarubi and Tavener had two coolers containing 28 cans of spray paint, 111 spray can tips/caps, 19 Sharpie paint pens, various notes on tagging and pictures of tagging, and other graffiti implements.

Zarubi and Tavener were arrested, transported and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility. Both Zarubi and Tavener were booked on Carrying Graffiti Implements with the Intent to Vandalize and Possession of Graffiti Materials. Their bail was set at $2,274.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to take an active role in reporting, accurately documenting, and ultimately putting a stop to graffiti vandalism. Attached is a graffiti information card created by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Community Relations Section to advise the citizens of Washoe County on graffiti vandalism.
