The Reno Blues Society presents “Get’Em to Memphis”



A free local blues band competition at Harrah’s plaza to determine who represents Reno at the 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN

The Reno Blues Society proudly presents the “Get’Em to Memphis” competition at Harrah’s Reno Outdoor Plaza on Sunday Sept 11 from 12pm to 7pm. This free event will determine which local Blues band and which Blues duo will represent Reno at the Blues Foundation’s 2012 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. The International Blues Challenge has evolved into the nation’s largest and most respected showcase for Blues musicians ready to take their act to the national stage.

Join the Reno Blues Society on for this exciting event that will showcase in the band category the talents of The Blues Monsters, Blues Haven, The Jason King Band, The Rick Hammond Blues Band, The Schall Adams Band, and The VooDooDogz. The duo category will be represented by performances including The Hellbusters, Moon Gravy, Jason King & Tommy Stiles, and Dave Manning.

This is a free event and open to the public. Please bring your own beach chair to sit in at Harrah’s outdoor plaza on Virginia St. There will be raffle drawings for prizes with the proceeds going towards the travel expenses for the winners. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the N NV Food Bank and come cheer on your favorite act!
