GOVERNOR’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE

CARSON CITY – Gov. Brian Sandoval issued the following statement after learning of the death of American soldiers near Kabul, Afghanistan. The governor returned to Nevada last night after a four-day visit to Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan with the Department of Defense. On Wednesday, he met with servicemen and women in Kabul.

“My family and I wish to express our sympathy to the loved ones of those killed in the helicopter crash near Kabul, Afghanistan earlier today. I had the privilege of being in Kabul on Wednesday and saw first-hand the dedicated men and women of our armed forces. No greater fighting force exists on the planet, but we are reminded today of the constant dangers our soldiers face. Throughout the Middle East, Americans from all walks of life make sacrifices so that our world is a safer place. I have never been more proud of the Nevadans who are currently deployed. My heart goes out to those who have died and those who continue to serve with courage and conviction.”
