SAINT MARY’S NEWS RELEASE

Saint Mary’s Medical Group is expanding its physician team to offer more services to patients with heart and vascular conditions. James Lee, M.D., has joined the group as an interventional cardiologist. Interventional cardiologists are specialists who use non-surgical techniques such as cardiac catheterization to diagnose and treat the heart. In this role, Dr. Lee will work alongside the new cardiology medical director, Steven Herrmann, Ph.D., M.D., to develop collaborative patient care models.

“The cardiology patients we care for deserve the very best, which is why we are expanding specialty care services,” said Dan Ferguson, M.D., chief medical officer at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. “As someone with a diverse set of skills and expertise, Dr. Lee will bring a new perspective and innovative practices to our existing teams.”

Dr. Lee is a medical graduate of Saint Louis University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine as a resident. Additionally, Dr. Lee completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine and later at Massachusetts General Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lee is board certified in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease, and is a fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology.

The Saint Mary’s Medical Group Cardiology practice is located in downtown Reno at Saint Mary’s Center for Health, 645 N. Arlington Ave., Suite 620. For appointments or referrals, please call 770-7664.
