Man arrested in assault investigation

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 17000 block of Gingko Court Reno, Nevada (Cold Springs area) at approximately 3:00am on Sunday, August 7, 2011.

Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with an adult female who had injuries to her body and hands. The female advised she had been involved in a physical confrontation with a male subject, identified as Karl Early. The female described being cut with a knife during a struggle inside the residence, being grabbed by the throat and choked, and also being struck in the back with a knife that was thrown at her as she fled. The female attempted to call 911 during the physical confrontation but was interrupted by Early. Early also received moderate injuries during the incident. Both persons were treated for their injuries. A Sheriff’s Office Detective was notified and responded to continue the investigation.

Through the investigation, it was determined that Early was the primary physical aggressor. Early was arrested and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on one count of Domestic Battery, two counts of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Battery with Strangulation, and one count of Interruption of an Emergency Call. Early’s bail is set at $18,272.
