Applications for TMCC fall semester set for 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1
Today, Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) announced a new policy for application and registration to the college. As part of the new policy, the deadline for applications for the 2011 fall semester is at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1. TMCC will implement these changes to ensure the college continues to provide students with the necessary services including orientation, advisement and financial aid assistance.
“The success of our students is our foremost priority and, with the recent budget reductions, we want to ensure we are able to provide the same excellent resources we’ve always given them,” said Dr. Maria Sheehan, president of TMCC. “Our recent record-breaking commencement ceremony is proof that TMCC’s quality faculty and dedicated staff play an integral role in creating a hard-working, ambitious workforce for northern Nevada.”
Recent state budget reductions for higher education have necessitated earlier and more restrictive deadlines for TMCC students. In order to manage the college’s enrollment numbers and continue student success, TMCC, in addition to its new application deadline, has established new deadlines for enrollment and registration.
- Thursday, Aug. 18: Fees due for 2011 fall semester by 4 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 19: Enrollment cancellation for non-payment
- Monday, Aug. 22: New registrations for 2011 fall semester credit courses by 8 a.m.
Additionally, from 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22 through 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, no changes in registration, such as adding or dropping courses, will be permitted. Dropping and adding of courses will be permitted in the following week with appropriate approvals from instructors and/or departments. Financial aid disbursement will beging the day before the payment due date with refunds beginning to be distributed five business days prior to the start of classes.
