Tessera Glass, mosaic art studio and distributor, relocates to Wells Ave.

This year, local business Tessera Glass, a supplier, distributor, and studio for mosaic art celebrates its fifth year in Reno. Mosaic art from Tessera GlassTessera Glass has relocated from their previous location in west Reno to the eclectic retail area just off South Wells Avenue. The new address is 236 Wonder St.

Owners Andrea Borges and Vernon Prestia are pleased to offer over 100 colors of glass and ceramic mosaic tile, along with a recently remodeled studio space. Classes taught by local mosaic art professionals are offered to adults at a rate of $65/ea. Membership is offered hourly, or on a tiered structure, dependent on studio need.

Mosaic parties of three to eight are offered at a discounted rate.

The studio is open to artists working in a variety of media, especially to instructors looking for a fresh, clean, and intimate space for instruction.

Tessera Glass offers in-school workshops to children ages 9+ and has donated time and materials to community schools and organizations serving at-risk youth and those with special needs.

“This year, our goal is to build new alliances with local artisans, teachers, students and the community at-large to showcase the significance of creative pursuits,” said Borges. “We are excited to have opened our new studio and look forward to serving the community in the coming years.”

Tessera Glass is open 10am-2pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9am-3pm and by appointment. Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends. Call 775-329-5454 for more information.
