RENO, Nev. – Justin Thomas, financial advisor with TCI Wealth Advisors, recently received the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®) designation. In attaining his CFP®, Thomas has distinguished himself as a
competent and capable financial planner, committed to the highest standard of excellence in the financial services industry. Thomas underwent a rigorous four-step process to ensure his preparedness for a career-long commitment to meeting the needs of his clients.

The four steps of CFP® certification, known as “the four E’s,” include education, examination, experience, and ethics. By completing the four steps, Thomas demonstrated his thorough knowledge of the financial planning process, tax planning, employee benefits and retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance. In order to obtain the CFP® designation, Thomas also had to log three years of full-time experience in financial planning, amounting to 6,000 hours of total experience. In addition, Thomas had to adhere to the CFP Board’s strict Standards of Professional Conduct, which assure he will always act in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards in the financial planning industry, and submit to a background check.
Thomas has a bachelor of science degree from The College of William & Mary. With his designation, Thomas is now identified as a financial planning professional committed to principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence when dealing with clients.
