RAVEN locates missing hiker in the area of Hunter Creek

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office RAVEN Helicopter located the missing hiker, which was reported missing on Tuesday, July 5th at approximately 11:31pm. Search and Rescue personnel responded to the area of the Michael D. Thompson Trailhead early this morning and began searching the surrounding areas. At approximately 8:20am, RAVEN located the missing person and transported him to the Sheriff’s Office Command Post without incident. The success of this search effort is credited to the collaborative efforts between RAVEN and the multiple Washoe County Search and Rescue teams to include the Hasty Team, Specialized Vehicle Unit and Washoe County Search and Rescue Inc.
