Hip Hop meets Punk meets Poetry! All the way from Rhode Island, Prayers for Atheists will be playing rad punk rock. Why should you care?  Well, Jared Paul is in Prayers for Atheists, and he’s a spoken word genius/activist. Joining PFA will be Knowledge Lives Forever, Weapons of Mass Creation, and Spoken Views Poets. It’ll be happening on Thursday, July 21 @ Holland Show Space at 8:00PM, $6.

 

Forage: Bike, Art, Performance Extravaganza – SATURDAY

Saturday, July 23 from 3-8pm, The Holland Project will be taking you on an art-blow-out bike tour of midtown and downtown Reno. Beginning at 3pm at the Holland Project Gallery on 30 Cheney St., Forage kicks off with a group exhibit at the gallery featuring a fortune teller and DJ. From there the roaming gallery will showcase murals, a trebuchet, homemade root beer floats, music including an acoustic set by Last to Leave, a chautauqua performance, forts, yarn bombing and food carts. The final event of the afternoon will be the screening of The Adventures of Prince Achmed paired with an original score by local musicians at the Nevada Museum of Art.

 

Ty Segall, Audacity, Mark Van Norris and the Encounters – MONDAY

Get ready to hang loose bro cause Ty Segall is coming to the Holland Show Space on July 25th. Coming with is Fulerton’s Audacity, they play some crazy psych-punk. And to seal the deal Mark Van Norris and the Encounters are playing too. If you didn’t catch them the last time they played it was AWESOME! Ty Segall plays garage-o-grunge-o-surf, and it’s really good. SO GOOOOOOO! Monday, July 15 at the Holland Show Space doors at 8:30PM Show 9:00PM (REALLY! SERIOUSLY!) $6 ADV. $8DOOR. ICEAGE//Cult of Youth//The Indoors//Spitting Image

All the way from Denmark, ICEAGE is playing the Holland Show Space on July 27th! This band is seriously awesome! Joining them is Brooklyn’s Cult of Youth, rock and rollers Thee Indoors, and weirdo punx Spitting Image. ICEAGE’s sound is a hard one to pin down, a little bit hardcore, a little bit post punk, and a whole lot of good music! Cult of Youth is a mix of Irish folk and rock music.
