Plenty of new additions for the event’s 30th anniversary

Reno native, Tasha Courtney, was welcomed to The Great Reno Balloon Race team earlier this month as the new Event Coordinator. Courtney will manage logistics for the event’s 30th anniversary celebration.

“Tasha is a welcomed addition to the Balloon Race,” said Pilar Aldecoaotalora, Board President. “I had the opportunity of working with her last year and she came through with flying colors. I look forward to working with her another year as she infuses new energy into the event.”

Courtney is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and a long-time supporter of The Balloon Race. She worked as an intern for the 2010 Great Reno Balloon Race, and was hired to begin preparation for this year’s festivities.  In her new position, Courtney will focus on sponsor coordination, communication and site logistics.

“This was an opportunity I knew I couldn’t pass up,” Courtney said. “The Balloon Race has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I feel so lucky to be a part of it now.”

This year’s event, scheduled for Sept. 9 – 11, will also include surprises for spectators. New balloons, sponsors and vendors will add to the highly anticipated celebration. For more information call the Balloon Race office at (775) 826-1181 or visit   www.renoballoon.com.

Thanks to the continued support of generous sponsors, The Great Reno Balloon Race continues as the nation’s largest free hot-air ballooning event for its 30th year.
