Nevada Guard set to commemorate Flag Day, Army Birthday

CARSON CITY – Help celebrate and pay respect to the flag of the United States at the annual Nevada National Guard Flag Day Ceremony. The ceremony is set for Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Wall located at the rear of the State Capitol in Carson City. The ceremony will also pay tribute to the 236th birthday of the U.S. Army.

Col. Cori Powers, the Nevada Army Guard director of personnel, will be the guest speaker for the ceremony and the event will feature an historic five-flag ceremony performed by the Nevada Air National Guard’s Non-commissioned Officer Academy Graduate Association. Birthday cake will also be available.

The event is free and open to the public.
