The Glenn Group receives 3 ACE awards

The Reno-Tahoe chapter of the American Marketing Association has awarded The Glenn Group, a Nevada-based full-service marketing communications agency, three ACE Awards for the branding campaign developed for Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. The 2011 ACE Awards event recognized the agency’s work in the categories of multiple media, web and social media, and publicity and PR.

The Glenn Group developed an integrated marketing communications campaign that included television, social and digital media strategies and initiatives, media placement and public relations to build awareness of the Capriotti’s brand, drive frequent visitation to the stores, generate sales and leverage word-of-mouth communication from Capriotti’s avid fan base. The agency recommended defining the Capriotti’s brand by developing a “voCAPulary” campaign that created a new lexicon describing the unique Capriotti’s fan experience. The idea started with Capriotti’s own existing fun sandwich monikers like “The Bobbie” and “Capistrami”.

The agency created seven television commercials based off the new voCAPulary campaign, which then directed viewers to the new Capriotti’s Facebook page application, also developed by The Glenn Group. The agency also planned and executed a PR stunt inspired by the “Holy CAPrimony” television spot inviting fans to The Little White Wedding Chapel to “Marry a Bobbie” while getting a free 9” sub, wedding certificate and wedding photo to be posted on the Capriotti’s Facebook page. The Reno-Tahoe AMA ACE awards honor companies in the community who continue to produce outstanding marketing work. The top 10 scoring entries from across six categories received an ACE award. Every entry was digitally sent to a panel of 6-8 judges in Charleston, South Carolina. The Charleston chapter of the AMA judged all the work for the Reno-Tahoe awards. Entries were judged based on overall quality of the work, whether it achieved quantitative results, the strategy behind the work, how appealing and well executed the campaign was and overall concept.
