In honor of National Women’s Health Week, Renown Health is partnering with da Vinci Surgery, Office of Women’s Health and Everyday Health to launch a national da Vinci Women’s Health effort entitled “Women’sWorks: Tools For A Healthier You.” As part of the national program, Renown will host three free women’s health events throughout the month of May. More than 300 hospitals are participating nationwide.
This program will feature doctor-led events in an effort to educate women aged 35-60 about early detection and treatment options for common health issues such as:
- Benign GYN issues: Endometriosis, fibroids, prolapse, menopause
- Cancer: Breast, cervical, uterine, ovarian, colorectal, colon
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure and cholesterol
- Urinary incontinence
- Osteoporosis
- Obesity
Other topics to be covered include critical risk factors, symptoms, nutrition, disease management and available screenings. There will also be information provided about da Vinci Robotic Surgical options for those facing conditions now or in the future that require surgery.
The second event, featuring Dr. Elizabeth Hutson, will be Friday, May 20, noon to 1 p.m., artisans classroom 108, Center for Advanced Medicine C, Renown Regional (lunch is $10); and the third event, featuring Dr. Pam Netuschil and Dr. Terry McCaskill, will be Tuesday, May 31, 6-7 p.m., at Renown Regional, Mack Auditorium.
