Date:

SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

The top four Republican candidates for the Second U.S. House District Congressional seat, left open following Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval’s appointment of Dean Heller to the U.S. Senate last month, will debate at a special event to be held starting at 6 p.m. June 15 at the Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, 2680 E. 9th St., Reno.

The four candidates invited are former State Assemblywoman Sharron Angle, retired Navy commander Kirk Lippold, former state Senator and state GOP Chairman Mark Amodei and state Senator Greg Brower. Northern Nevada television personality John Tyson will moderate the debate, which is expected to last 90 minutes. A panel will present questions to the candidates.

The debate will be broadcast live by KNPB Channel 5 and News Talk KKFT 99.1 FM Fox News Radio. Radio listeners will be given the opportunity to blog questions to the station, some of which may be chosen during the second half of the debate to be answered by the candidates.

The event is sponsored by the Nevada Republican Assembly and is not affiliated with the state or county party. For more information about the NVRA or the debate, visit the organization’s website.
