SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

(BAKER, Nev.) – The third annual Snake Valley Festival will be held in Baker, Nevada on June 17, 18, and 19, 2011. Lots of family friendly events will be held throughout the weekend, such as an ice cream social, parade, yard sale, kids’ games, booths, face painting, cowboy poetry, pancake breakfast, barbeque dinner, karaoke, and a trail run/walk. Other events include a wine tasting party, silent and live auctions, and music.

This three-day event is being held to build funds to protect rural Nevada’s water and way of life. Proceeds will go to the Great Basin Water Network to cover legal expenses, expert witnesses, and studies about the Great Basin area.

We are looking for donations for both the live and silent auctions; clean used items in good condition for the yard sale; and books and CDs for the book sale. Booth spaces are available. We are looking for some creative parade entries—our route is short, so there’s time for skits and other entertainment. We also need volunteers for the trail run/walk to help with timing and aid stations, as well as volunteers to help with general set up and clean up of festival activities. If you are able to help with any of these areas, please contact Roberta Moore at 775-234-7291 or [email protected].

For more information about the festival, please go to the website ProtectSnakeValley.org. We look forward to seeing you in beautiful Snake Valley!
