Volunteer Positions Now Available for 8th Annual Reno River Festival May 6-8

Prepare for plenty of fun in the sun with volunteer positions now available for the Reno River Festival, May 6 – 8, at downtown Reno’s Truckee River Whitewater Park.  As one of the water sport industry’s top events, the 8th annual Festival seeks dozens of helpers throughout the weekend, primarily to assist in the crowd favorite Run Amuck fun run Sat., May 7 from 2 – 4 p.m. All volunteers receive a free Reno River Festival T-shirt and those working more than four hours receive a free lunch. ”Volunteering during the Festival provides a great opportunity to spend an active weekend outdoors while getting involved in a fun community event,” said Robin Lewis, Reno River Festival volunteer coordinator. “With our schedule of events and attendance numbers increasing with each passing year, volunteers are a crucial component in helping to produce a successful event.”

Round up a group of friends or family and make a weekend of it with volunteer shifts ranging from 1 ½ to five hours. Positions include registering participants and overseeing the 2.5-mile course, featuring hundreds of costumed runners and surprise mystery obstacles. In addition, the weekend features live entertainment during free Music in the Park, free Yoga in the Park at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, a kid’s zone including bounce houses and activities, the official Kick-Off Party and concert featuring English Beat Friday at 8 p.m. and the Festival’s first-ever Biggest Little Homebrew Challenge Sunday at 2 p.m.
