The University of Nevada, Reno and the family of Milton D. Glick will host a public memorial service to honor his life and legacy on April 21, 4 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center on the University campus in Reno.
Dr. Glick died suddenly April 16, 2011. His death marks an incredible loss for his family, the University community and his many friends across the state of Nevada and the nation.
Dr. Glick, 73, was appointed the 15th president of the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006. Since joining the University, his tenure has been marked by numerous campus milestones and an increased emphasis on student success. He led the University through a period of unprecedented progress and growth, and under his leadership the University reached several new heights of national stature for teaching and research.
Prior to joining the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Glick held leadership or faculty positions at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.; Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa; University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.; and Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Glick is survived by his wife Peggy; his son David and wife Jennifer and their sons Toby and Elijah; and his son Sander and wife Laura and their daughter Nina.
Lawlor Events Center is located at the corner of N. Virginia and 15th Streets in Reno. Free public parking for the memorial service will be available in the Brian Whalen Parking Complex and the West Stadium Parking Complex, both off of N. Virginia Street.
