Come down to The Studio tonight (1085 S. Virginia, right above the Spy Shop) for this month’s installment of Spoken Views. Only $3, so there’s no excuse! Poets come at 7:30pm, audience at 8:00pm. YEAH!
Jared Paul Spoken/Heard – FRIDAY
On Friday, Jared Paul will be speaking at the HPHQ at 8:00pm. If you don’t know who Jared is: Jared Paul is a social worker, journalist, and organizer from Providence, Rhode Island. Known for thoroughly researched work, poignant presentation, and dedication to craft, Jared is also widely recognized as one of the top spoken word artists in the country. His performance accomplishments include two nationwide tours with world-renowned poet and Epitaph Recording artist Sage Francis, and advancing to the Individual World Poetry Slam Final’s in both 2006 and 2007. So GO!
Under Ten II – SATURDAY
A follow up to the original “Ten Under Ten”, Under Ten II will be a dance-xtravaganza!   This event is a cool way to see local dancers, up close and personal, in a unique setting, performing site-specific works–all under 10 minutes!  Fall’s Under 10 event was awesome, and we think the Spring event on Saturday is going to be just as fun.  With every inch of the space utilized and a bunch of different genres–modern, ballet, tap, hip hop, and more–this is a unique dance event not to miss. Saturday, April 23rd, 7pm, $5
Uzi Rash//The Spitting Image//Dead Waitress – SUNDAY
Celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus in the best way possible, at the HPHQ with UZI RASH! Oakland’s Uzi Rash play crazy Rock and Roll music of the weirdest caliber. Joining them for the night is The Spitting Image and Dead Waitress. Come at 7:30 with 5 bucks and you’ll be all good! April 24th at the HPHQ 7:30 $5.
