Drivers encouraged to allow for extra travel time this weekend

CITY OF RENO NEWS RELEASE

The downtown Reno area along with the Idlewild neighborhood will be bustling with activities on Sunday, May 1. Residents are encouraged to allow for extra travel time to accommodate for periods of heavy traffic congestion.

• From 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the 4th annual Reno’s Rock-n-River Marathon will be taking place. The event features a full marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, and free 1 mile kids fun run. The run takes place in downtown Reno under the historic Reno arch, and follows a course near the Truckee River. For more information visit their website at http://rock-n-riverhalfmarathon.com.
• From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Nevada EcoNet’s Earth Day 2011 will be taking place in Idlewild Park. For more information visit their website at http://www.nevadaeconet.org/events/earthday
