Book signing for the University of Nevada Oral History Program’s new book We Were All Athletes – Wednesday, March 30
4-6 p.m., Joe Crowley Student Union, Room 301
The University of Nevada Oral History Program celebrates the release of its newest book, We Were All Athletes: Women’s Athletics and Title IX at the University of Nevada. This project was initiated in 2005 and involved interviews with nearly 50 current and former student athletes, coaches, administrators, donors, and community members who collectively tell the story of how our university not only implemented Title IX compliance, but went on to lead the country in doing so. Books will be available for purchase, and interviewees for the book will be at the event and available for signatures. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Nutrition Graduate Program Seminar Series presents Stent, Bypass Surgery? No thanks. Pass the red wine! During this seminar, health professionals will discuss cardiovascular disease prevention with the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle. The main presentation will be given by Michael Ozner, medical director for the Center for Prevention and Wellness, Baptist Health South Florida.

A Conversation with Ambassador Ryan Crocker – Saturday, April 2
9-11 a.m., Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center, Wells Fargo Auditorium
Ambassador Ryan Crocker received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his outstanding service as a diplomat, including stints as Ambassador to Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Kuwait and Lebanon. This conversation will cover a range of topics, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The ambassador will talk about the direction he believes Pakistan is heading, the implications of the revolutions in autocratic Arab states, the Iranian Nuclear Program and the jihadist impulse in the Islamic world. Parking will be available in the Brian Whalen Parking Garage.
