SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center will celebrate Doctors’ Day on Wednesday, March 30 by providing Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada with a $5,000 donation.  This annual celebration recognizes the first administration of anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Ling, in Barrow County, Ga., in 1842.  Saint Mary’s is proud to acknowledge and thank the dedicated physicians in our community for their hard work and service to Saint Mary’s and to communities throughout northern Nevada.

“The physicians at Saint Mary’s have a long-standing commitment to the community and work diligently to care for the medical needs of patients in northern Nevada,” said Mike Uboldi, president and CEO of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.  “In lieu of a gift or large-scale celebration, we are pleased to provide Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada with a donation in honor of our physicians.”

Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing human service programs to its clients, which includes St. Vincent’s Dining Room, St. Vincent’s Food Pantry, Emergency Assistance, St. Vincent’s Residence, St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop, Immigration Assistance, Adoptions and Holy Child Day Home.  Since 1941, Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada has provided half a million units of service in our community each year.

Saint Mary’s thanks all of the physicians in northern Nevada for their continued dedication to our community.
