Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc. Signs Lease With Basin Street Properties To Move Into Mill @ McCarran Project

Since Basin Street Properties, a prominent West coast and Reno real estate investor in commercial and mixed-use properties, purchased the Mill @ McCarran mixed-use property project in Reno in mid-2010, it has become to be one of the fastest growing real estate projects in northern Nevada. This growth has continued with the announcement that Kautz Environmental Consultants, Inc. has signed a five-year lease to with Basin Street Properties (www.basin-street.com) to move its offices into Mill @ McCarran project located at 5580 Mill St. in Reno. Kautz Environmental Consultants will occupy 3,957 square-feet in the 129,767-square-foot, five building project that is designed for office and light industrial use.

Kautz Environmental Consultants had shared an office with Frontier Financial Credit Union prior to the move.

“We have greatly enjoyed developing our business while sharing space with the Frontier Financial Credit Union,” said Robert Kautz, Kautz Environmental Consultants president. “However, our company has reached a milestone, and we are looking forward to leasing an expanded suite of offices and lab space from Basin Street Properties at Mill @ McCarran.  This move nearly doubles our current square footage to accommodate our increasing client base and work flow.”

Established in January 1994, Kautz Environmental Consultants offers effective and innovative solutions for its clients’ cultural resource related issues throughout the western states including Nevada, California, Idaho, Utah and Oregon. Kautz Environmental  Consultants offers prehistoric and historic archaeology, historic documentation and archival research, architectural evaluation, the creation of historic resource management plans for the following: National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA); American Indian Religious Freedom Act (AIRFA); California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); Truckee Meadows Regional Plan; State of Nevada, Utility Environmental Protection Act (UEPA); and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Licensing  Application (FERC).

Basin Street Properties acquired the Mill @ McCarran Center in 2010 from Wells Fargo Bank after serving as the facility’s property managers. Basin Street will have a designated property manager and facilities engineer dedicated to the tenants of the Mill @ McCarran, as they do with all of its assets.

Located at Mill Street and East McCarran, the project was built between 2000 and 2003, and originally owned by Dermody Properties. Basin Street currently owns four other properties in Reno including 300 E. Second St., 50 W. Liberty St., 200 S. Virginia St. and Coliseum Meadows Shopping Center.
