Powering Nevada’s Prosperity – OASIS Cultural Convening

Reno, Nev. As the focus on developing a diverse economy for our state continues the OASIS 2011: Powering Nevada’s Prosperity Conference confirms that Nevada already boasts an existing, robust creative industry. The one-day convening designed for artists, community teams, organizations and educators takes place March 3, 2011 at The Silver Legacy in downtown Reno.

The Nevada Arts Council is pleased to announce the OASIS 2011 keynote speaker Kelly J. Barsdate, Chief Program and Planning Officer for the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies. She will present the keynote address on innovation and the creative industry. 

In addition OASIS 2011 features:

• Adam Natale, director of Partnerships and Business Development – Fractured Atlas (an artist-centric national service organization)
• Deborah Obalil, marketing and organizational development specialist – Obalil & Associates
• Lisa Carnevale, executive director – Rhode Island Citizens for the Arts
• Ryan Keiffer, executive director & Beth Flowers, senior producer/project director – Beet Street, (the arts and culture organization serving Fort Collins, Colo.)

Professional Development Grants are available to attend OASIS 2011 for those traveling more than 100 miles roundtrip to attend on a first-come, first-served basis. 

The Nevada Arts Council is a division of the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs.
