SUBMITTED NEWS RELEASE

Get the syrup and butter ready — what has become an annual pancake feed across the Truckee Meadows is all to benefit and raise awareness for Renown Children’s Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

The National Pancake Day event takes place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, at International House of Pancakes restaurants in Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Lake Tahoe. As part of the event, IHOPs give guests a free short stack of pancakes. In return, IHOP asks that guests donate what they would have spent on the pancakes to CMNH, with those proceeds staying in the community for children’s care at Renown.

While dining at IHOP, guests also can buy a CMNH paper balloon that will be placed on the wall with a name. These “Miracle Balloons” will be sold for $1 and $5 each now through March 1.  Miracle Balloon sales offer guests another way to show their support of CMNH.

This is IHOP’s sixth National Pancake Day. This year, IHOP is hoping to stack up more donations than ever before, with a goal to raise $2.3 million nation-wide, for a total of $7.6 million raised over the past six years with its National Pancake Day fundraising effort.
