ELKO — The California National Historic Trail Interpretive Center will host a pioneer dance on Saturday, February 19, from 7-9 p.m.  The event is free, and singles, couples, and families are all welcome.  No dancing skills are necessary.  Dance caller Rob Snow will teach all the necessary steps, and musical selections from the 1800s performed live by South Wind will put dancers in the pioneer spirit.

Visitors to the Trail Center can also see a display of vintage quilts on loan from the Northeastern Nevada Museum, and get a sneak peek of the new temporary exhibit “Seeds of Change.”  This display is one of many additions for the upcoming summer season, which kicks off with California Trail Days on May 21-22.

The California National Historic Trail Interpretive Center is operated by the Bureau of Land Management, and is located eight miles west of Elko at Hunter exit 292.  For more information, please contact Trail Center staff at 775-738-1849.
